Writing

Leslie Vasquez became a writer after receiving her Bachelors of Arts Degree in English Literature. After college Leslie worked as editor and writer for the Beverly Hills Post and West Hollywood Post and many other writing-related jobs.

Among other occupations she found occasional jobs where she could write about art specifically: she was Information Officer Associate at the state office of the California Arts Council; she worked as Gallery Correspondent for Charles Wysocki Fine Art at AMCAL Calendars; and she reviewed music and audio books for Tower Records ezine. She wrote on a variety of topics for many newsletters and small publications along the way.

When she moved to the Sierra foothills of Amador County in 1997, she became a full-time freelance writer. Her work was published in major newspapers, on websites (TowerRecords.com, Learn2.com, among others), and her articles and fillers were published in magazines (Mothering Magazine, Family Fun, Backpacker, and Sierra Seasons). She became the outdoor columnist for the Upcountry News and West Point News for several years and wrote occasionally for the Ledger Dispatch.

Leslie took a hiatus from writing to pursue her art interests, outdoor adventures, and face painting but with the CoVid19 stay-at-home order, she is now accepting web content freelance work.
